Pale Princesses

Everyone knows that unless you're actually taking home an Oscar, the only thing that matters at the Academy Awards is what you're wearing. Every year, the Oscars, arguably the biggest non-fashion fashion event of the year, sees the red carpet outside the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood transform into a couture catwalk with the most glamorous celebrities acting as modest supermodels. Just as any other fashion show is followed by an in-depth report of the best designers du jour and biggest trends of the season, the Academy Awards are followed by a similar synopsis, only of a harsher tone; the best and worst dressed list. As I agree with many of the choices on either side of the fence, there are still many that I beg to differ on, as fashion, in many cases, is a matter of opinion. Therefore, instead of picking specific bests and worsts I've decided to pick an overall winner. And the winner is (drum roll please)...the pale princesses! Soft, neutral hues seemed to be the colours of choice this year with several starlets making the light decision. Not only did I think that these ladies look stunning, it seems as though that was the general consensus as many of the neutral looks landed on the best dressed lists. Here are the pale princesses that I think reigned supreme: Taraji P. Henson in Roberto Cavalli, Penelope Cruz in Balmain, Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive' and Jessica Biel in Prada. Gorgeous girls!
